As president and owner of Leland & Associates, he has developed a long list of clients including SAM'S Club, Genmar, Texaco, Billy Graham Association, National Association of Parents & Educators, Next Media, Mercy & Unity Hospitals, ACE Hardware, REMAX Associates Plus, and more. An entrepreneur who has owned several businesses over the last 20 years, JL has had countless opportunities to live out the experiences that provide credibility to his message. Bob Hoel, PhD Bob is Filene fellow in residence at the Filene Research Institute, a nonprofit research and innovation organization. Filene is the credit union industry's award-winning "think and do tank" for credit union and consumer finance issues. A popular speaker worldwide, Bob frequently speaks about credit union challenges and opportunities at meetings of credit union leaders, regulators, and auditors. He has spoken at conferences and conventions in all 50 states and in Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America. Prior to becoming Filene's executive director in 1991, Bob was a professor of business and chairman of the department of marketing at Colorado State University, where he received the "Outstanding Business Professor Award" on three separate occasions. While at Colorado State, he served as chairman of the board of Norlarco Credit Union. Currently, he is a member of the national examining committee for the Certified Credit Union Executive program. Claudine Oriani Claudine Oriani has been involved in adult education assessment, design, and delivery for the past 25 years, 15 of which have been spent in the credit union industry. Her thought-provoking presentations on marketing/branding, employee development, team building, leadership, strategic planning, service, and financial literacy have received superior marks from thousands of participants. Claudine once performed as a stand-up comedian and often infuses her presentations with humor. On this subject, she states: "Research has quantified the link between laughter and learning retention, so there's a method to my madness." Dennis Paul Dennis Paul, assistant vice president of business and community development at Elevations Credit Union, oversees the credit union's RealityCheck consumer education initiative, which has gained national attention and gives the credit union a strong competitive advantage in the marketplace. In addition, Dennis is charged with branding and positioning, community relations, and serves as the spokesperson for all media and press contacts. During his tenure, Elevations Credit Union has expanded its potential field of membership by over 200 percent. The credit union goes far beyond the traditional SEG-based relationships and offers on-site education, partnerships, and sponsorships. In his 20 years of working in the movement, he has been involved in all facets of retail delivery, lending, operations, marketing, and business development. Previously, Dennis worked for the Englewood-based Bellco Credit Union for nine years. Eric Gagliano Eric Gagliano, senior vice president MarketMatch, is a leading credit union marketer with more than 11 years of marketing experience. Coming from the advertising agency world as an account executive focused on strategic planning, branding, market research, and product promotion, Eric became vice president of marketing at River Valley Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio. While at River Valley, he had great success in increasing brand awareness, member growth, and services per member. He has since parlayed his credit union experience into a consulting career where he works with credit unions from around the country in helping with strategic planning, market research, brand building and creative execution. Colin Brogan Colin Brogan is the director of business consulting for Satmetrix. Throughout his career, he has worked with Fortune 500 companies on designing loyalty strategies and new customer experiences. He has held leadership positions with Peppers & Rogers Group, where he led engagements to develop enterprise CRM and loyalty strategies and led the firm's 1to1 Privacy practice. He also created successful loyalty programs as a member of Mercedes Benz relationship marketing team.
