SEMINAR OVERVIEWAre you really helping your credit union with a great campaign if your project is not in compliance? It's a detail you can't afford to miss. Gone are the days when a financial institution can market their products without regard to regulatory compliance. Significant constraints exist concerning marketing under federal and state law. You may be putting your credit union at risk if you haven't brushed up on your marketing compliance awareness within the past year. Now is the time to update your skills and protect your credit union. In this session you will:
- Explore the various laws for website, print, and social media advertising
- Discuss advertising rules for share accounts and related products
- Review the common regulations to be aware of when putting together advertisements and website promotions
- Identify how traditional legal principles of copyright, defamation, trade libel, tortuous interference with a business relationship and privacy create challenges with use of social media by a business
- Review sample websites, social media, and print advertising to examine common compliance and legal mistakes
- Leave with a checklist to better guide you when developing marketing promotions
